    Good point , for safety & better handling the new tyres should go on the rear & the existing rears on the front. It would explain why the op thinks the fronts have worn down quick.

    Check your electrical connections going to the power steering pump , if they are loose you’ll get Can Bus faults flag up.

    If it was my money I’d walk away , snapped timing chains never end well. To do the chain on this engine it’s an engine out job , sounds like the tensioners have been failing for some time. Did you never hear a noise coming from that area ?

    Isn’t the EGR valve used to help raise the temperature for the regeneration of the DPF?

    Try disconnecting the battery negative lead for 30 minutes

    A common diagnostic trouble code that used to be found a lot on the engine management system on this engine , mine showed it if scanned but never caused any running issues. Just keep your eye on it for now but usually nothing to worry about.
