Those 12 pointed 8mm bolts need time and effort to get em off.
After removing them and the intake manifold you could replace them 12 pointer bolts with something normal for that next time youre taking it off also get angel grinder and go mental on the intake manifold you can chip away huge chunk of metal from it and do polishing with it afterwards and you got muchos nicer looking manifold. 18092010007.jpg 02082010094.jpg

    Thank you for the info.

I was happy to found one piece of 8mm pipe wrench head and finally managed to remove the inlet manifold.

Just studying how LDA is designed I realized that if you move the acceleration lever on the Zexel injection pump, while cutting off the white ring with the plunger pulled out at max. (just below the bottom of the inlet manifold) the LDA sliding pin will completely move out just underneath the LDA plunger and that was the reason for my nasty situation where the plunger won't fit back down to it's place.

Solved for now, next I'll have to find a suitable place to put the mbc on the engine block somewhere as near the turbo, then I'll have to adjust it for 1bar boost and finally leave it mounted with it's screws in place.

Sorry for my English, I try to improve it every day.

Finally, the mod is working for me - white ring removed, 90degrees fuel screw turned clockwise on the injection pump and 1.1bar turbo pressure while onboost.
But now I saw that the Isuzu engine is running warmer, I'm driving the car most of the time in the city. I'm not too happy with this behavior, to be honest.

Has anyone here some ideas how to better cool down the engine on normal driving conditions in the city traffic ? From 92-93 degrees now to ... let's say... 90 degrees celsius ? Thanks.

i have a 1.7L TD Isuzu engine in a Opel astra f, and i came fittet with an intercooler... my question is now, why aren't there any "bottom plate" on the second picture in post #412 i haven't undone mine because i havent gotten the tools to do it, but it seams like a lot more pain in the behind with the intercooler intake, i can ofcourse be confised :) i'll try to discribe my intake, sitting on the engine, after taking off the plastic cover for the airfilter it looks like this: right side intercooler air intake left side goes via a hose to airbox, whare on this system would i fit the conefilter?

and sorry for bumping an OOOOLD thread
