Thanks to Hillper I am another satisfied customer, had the kick panel off to reconnect bonnet release, so while I was there . . . Job done, much better. Thanks.

    Hi there,

I found one thing annoying after playing with this.. boot button..
The interior light stays on for few seconds when I shut the door which is annoying at night time.
    How about others?

Hmmm. I notice my interior lights stay on too, even when i start the car, they should go off immediately. they are delayed by about 6 seconds. Wonder if this is a coincidence or tied up with the boot release upgrade.

It's not a coincidence, that's for sure. Don't know if we can do something about it.. some kind of relay that will cut this red wire off after ignition being swithed on.

That light well annoys me as I can see anything when it's dark outside...:grrr but I'm not gonna stick it back together.

the pre facelift omegas never had remote boot release, nor was it an option,it would be difficult to use the o/e system as it is different, you can get an aftermarket remote kit that does remote boot release but you lose the deadlock feature

turn the key so it is in the horizontal position, then the central locking would operate the boot

I thoroughly recommend this mod, but it's annoying having the interior lights on (ten seconds in my case) so I rigged up a redundant Traffic Master switch to the small red wire. If I am ready to drive off while being blinded by the lights, I simply stab the TM switch & they go out. Simples!

I went back to original state.
One of my keys stopped working properly. It wouldn't unlock my car remotely. The trick with the ignition on and pressing the button on the key would not work. Took it to the garage and they didn't know what was wrong. After a while I realised that I cut one of the wires. I linked them again, and I could 'code' my remote key and everything was working fine.

I didn't bother disconnecting the cable again, also because of the interior light.

However though. I can open my boot whilst the engine is running by pressing the button on the remote key itself. Did anyone try it?
