Hi Mick not sure what model you have but same on all. make sure the temperature hauge is in the normal place to start with and you have water in it etc...run it up get it hot check both the heater pipes are hot...you could have a blocked matrix, air lock in heater hoses or stuck pen thermostat....not sure about the clicking, it could be the flaps trying to move, maybe there stuck on cold or something....few thoughts anyway from Fred in Essex.

Sounds like one of the servo motors that control the heater flaps inside the car is clicking - that would explain both the noise and the lack of warm air. It is important as Fred says above to ensure that the cooling system is functioning correctly, but based off your symptoms I'd be looking internally for issues.

Easiest way initially would be to remove the glovebox and with the ignition on operate the heater control and look for the motors turning the worm drives on the side of the heater box - might be a stuck motor/broken linkage or worst case one of the flaps stuck inside the heater box.
