I have had a quick look through the forum and i cant find anyone putting this thread up, if there is one admin feel free to delete this one :)

I had a crack in my drivers rear light cluster so i used that excuse to upgrade them to the newer one's :sneaky:

Ive put together a step by step guide, very easy to follow guide for anyone thinking of refreshing the rear of their vivaro

The first picture is of the rear of the van before i started with the older type tinted rear lights.

The second picture is the 3 bolts you have to remove with a T-30 hex key.

The third one is of the wiring configuration coming from the van, the wires are as follows

    Black - Ground
    Blue - Side Light
    Yellow - Indicator
    Purple - Brake Light
    IMG_0547.JPG

The forth picture is of the plug on the rear of the new lights, this needs to be cut off as indicated
    IMG_0548.JPG

Here is the plug cut off
    IMG_0549.JPG

After you have cut the plugs off on the van and the lights i fitted thru crimp's, there are other methods but i prefer this one
    IMG_0551.JPG

The colours are nearly a exact fit so its hard to go wrong, except the grey on the new light loom goes with the purple on the van loom as below
    IMG_0552.JPG

After crimping the cables together i just put some electrical tape around the wire's just for some added protection, and here is the finished project

Hope this help's anyone looking to do the same and hopefully ive taken all the hard work out of the job, it took me 45 mins to do the job and that was with finding out what wire did what so you should be able to do it quicker. Have fun :)

Hi Dave, I was just about to post when I found your thread.
Perfect advice I thought but, I have done all the connections - Blue to Blue, Orange to Orange, Black to Black and Purple to Grey - Tail light works, Indicator works, but when you press the brake pedal there is no brake light and the tail light goes out.
I figured there may be a problem with a bulb or bulb holder so I swapped them with the not yet fitted O/S ones and it's the same. Any thoughts?

    Hello ,
I`ve got a 54 plate vivaro with old style rear lights and want to upgrade to the newer style , can anybody put up a link to ones that will fit , and also do the new ones come with the plastic grey surround that screws to the body to hold them in , and again also , will I need new bulb fittings ?
I appreciate that this has been asked before , but I just want to make sure I get the right fitting ones.
    Many thanks.
