Hello I have the same problem with 97 Cadillac Catera "Opel Omega" my check strap has broken on my drivers door. I have looked everywhere for these repair plates I have contacted GM dealerships here and nothing. I was wondering if someone can direct me where I can buy online or pay someone to go order and ship these parts to me. It wuld be reatly appreciated.

    Kevin,

Although you're not in the UK see if your GM dealership can access or contact the parts listing for the UK, if not maybe you have family or friends in the UK that can go to their Vauxhall dealer for you and get the reinforcement plates. The part code that is printed on my receipt in March 2010 is as follows:- V0009195961 REINFORCEMENT. (I believe that this is the same part number as stated in the first article of this thread) At the time they were £1.36 + vat each and I would suggest that you use 2 per door, If you do have trouble getting hold of them I would suggest finding a fabrication 'friend' who could make them for you. If the drivers door has gone then it may only be time before the passenger door goes, It's just as easy to order / make 4 plates as it is 2!

    Hope that this helps

    Hello!

I have an Opel astra G - 1999 and the check strap fell of. http://i.imgur.com/1ZNVhdz.jpg How can I put it back in again? Do I need to remove the inner door panel?

(I removed it because it was loose and I head an cracking noise from the door suddenly and I knew it was the check strap, I tried to put it back in again but it wouldnt fit) I have no idea how to remove the inner door panel and I am afraid I will damage something while doing it. Is there any other solution without opening the inner door panel?

    Best regards
