You need to have the van scanned for DTC's ( fault codes ) & see what's stored . Obviously there is something wrong with the van . Possibly a sensor failure which is causing both the Wavy line to light up & engine to not start .

Hi there, i have to ask the age old question is it Petrol or Diesel, i suspect its diesel with the spring looking light, as Fred says you really need to do a code test at least.....it does sound like the crank sensor but you have changed that...i assume it turns over ok then wont start....and if it goes on easy start it indicates a fuel problem...good luck from Fred, the one in Essex.

Well if you turn it over and it wont start, then you squirt easy start in it starts up its fuel problem....mind you that is not to say the electrics isn't opening the injectors...you really need to get the fuel pressure checked...unless its been done...just as a bit of info Diesels these days dont normally have a fuel pump in the tank, they have a high pressure pump on the engine that is driven by the cam belt...and that has two sections, the primary that sucks the fuel up from the tank and the secondary that provides high pressure for the injectors. pressure is in the region of about 300 bar, i cant remember the exact number but it is really high pressure, the injectors are opened by a combination of the crank and cam sensors and the ecu, the injectors work off of about 200 volts, provided by an inverter usually but not always built into the ecu....so that's the theory...pick the bones out of that, just 2 last things, you have to have good compression, as its a compression ignition engine, and the starter motor has to be in good condition and turn the over pretty fast....from Fred in Essex.

You need a compatible Renault code reader , many other code readers won't be able to retrieve stored DTC's in the the relevant modules . If the light as been on then a fault code has been logged .
