    VxON returned to the PV Show for the first time in a couple of years this weekend, and seemingly, it was a good one!

    Now, I've not been since 2006, where it was a bit of a Chav Magnet. I didn't enjoy it, I was quite happy to admit that I didn't enjoy it, was quite happy to put the show down, and I said I wouldn't ever go to another as a result.
    However, after the Club decision to return was made, I thought that maybe 7 years would be enough time to rethink and make the effort to attend (pending work commitments, as I didn't book holiday for it). I managed to get the weekend clear, and made my way up.

    We had a moderate turnout for this one;
    A small group camped on the Saturday night - Mark, Alex, CavHopper and WheelyBigCheese. Seemingly, it was a cold night, I don't know what else they got up to other than Arcade games and hiding in Marks coat!
    The rest of us - myself, Windy1989, Vvestatexp2, c20xemad and Michael Massey all arrived on the Sunday, after some fairly early starts for the 3 of us coming up from the South West especially!

    The weather on Sunday held out. It was quite overcast until the later half of the morning when it warmed up and the cloud cover started to break. For the two of us that were hardcore enough to brave bringing and wearing shorts, the decision paid off... thankfully.

    There was a massive Show turnout in general. Huge amount of car. I have NEVER seen so many Astras & Corsas in one place. Mental. There is definitley more on display at the VBOA Billing event in terms of variety of models. Granted, the cars this weekend did have many differences in their routes of modification, so it wasn't too 'samey'.

    Lots of Strip action. Myself & Martin took ours up there, was alright. More to say it's been down than for any competitive purpose. I didn't get any of my times, so no idea how mine was. I don't think Martin did either, though I'm sure he will post his if he did get them.

    Mine was interesting. It was my first time up the Strip, so wasn't expecting to do well. My first run saw me sit on the spot for a second or so after the light went greem whilst my brain processed what was happening and reminded me that I should be setting off rather than sitting still. My second & third runs were better in terms of launching off, but overall the runs were not so much better in the fact that I used Sports mode and managed to slip the clutch in first gear both times. Still, was good fun and was seeing over 100 on the speedo at the Gantry each time. Not bad for a 1600kg car on it's standard mapping I guess. :)

    A bit more mooching around was done, taking in more sights of cars etc. The Fireforce Jet Car was in use again, carrying out 2x runs along the strip. Both rapid unsuprisingly! It's a tad loud too as it passes you on full chat... haha.

    Oh, and I enjoyed my day. I'll consider coming again next year. It is nothing like it was on my last visit. :)

    Things we have learnt this year;
    - Wind Deflectors sell like hot cakes and are definitley 'Scene' - the Club Zafira now sports a set to make it fast.
    - VxON URL Stickers in random places on member cars is definitely Scene.
    - Astra & Corsa VXRs are NOT rare cars.
    - The Club BBQ doesn't have a rust hole at the bottom.
    - 1 Glove is better than none.

    Pics are currently uploading, will be posted later or tomorrow :)

    to add...

    - those retro style 5 spokes are neither a good look on an Astra VXR, nor are they an uncommon look on an Astra VXR at PVS. This meant there were a lot of unpleasant looking Astra VXRs
    - Adrian Flux use the term "babe" far too loosely
    - Mark is far too good at Time Crisis 3 - even with a funny scrolly screen thing
    - Skrillex is not improved by playing it at immense volume and having a car capable of "dropping the bass"
