For those who missed out, Alex suggested this concept and we decided to offer a little activity on the Saturday of the show weekend to the members who wanted to have a go, with the incentive of some prizes to those who did well in it. This consisted of a challenge to get photos of specific items/categories based on what Alex and myself have seen over 7-8 years of Billing attendance experience. So, although there was a high chance everything we set as a challenge would be present, it wasn't guaranteed... Points would be offered if the entrants successfully showed a photo of each described category - some offered multiple points and/or bonus points. Anyway, the 15 categories were; 1. A new style Vauxhall Viva 2. A new style Vauxhall Astra 3. A Lotus Carlton - 1 bonus point if it was not on the Autobahnstormers stand 4. Every generation of the Vauxhall Cavalier 5. 10 or more Vauxhall Corsas parked in a line on a club stand 6. A 'Sleeper' Vauxhall 7. A 'Rat-Look' Vauxhall 8. A 'Powered by Fairydust' sticker on a Vauxhall 9. A 'His & Hers' pair of modified Vauxhalls 10. A 'showplate' with the owners forum username/nickname in place of the normal registration plate 11. A sticker-bombed car. 1-10 stickers = 1pt / 11-15 stickers = 2pts / 16-20 stickers = 3pts / 21+ stickers = 5pts 12. A Car-B-Q 13. A car on stretched tyres with cards/flyers wedged between the rubber and the rim 14. 'Built not Bought' stickers - 1pt per sticker 15. A trailer built from part of a Vauxhall We had 3 prizes (bought on the day!) for the top 3 entries. As it turned out, we only had 3 entries at the end of the Saturday. The winners were as follows; 3rd Place; Team Essex Boy (Stoneshed) He scored 17 points, mostly gathered in a mad 25min dash just before the cut off time! A great effort! IMG_3663 by Dave Gritt, on Flickr 1st Place; Team 'Daan Saaf' (Sy & Trish) They also scored 19pts, but Sy got the Tie Break question to give them the win. Top job! It's good to get this sort of feedback too. Next year, we will definitely do this again with new categories instead and a tweak of the rules/scoring... We shall also organise the prizes in advance of the show, so people know what is at stake - we hope to make it a bit more popular!
