CD30 removal

Hi all.

I'm trying to remove a CD30 from my Vectra C, but having no joy. I've got the removal tools, and they jam in right down to where the tools start to bend to form the "U" shape, but the unit itself won't budge a millimeter. If I try to use the removal prongs as a lever all that happens is they come out and leave the unit where it was.

Am I missing something - can anybody suggest anything?

I'm trying to remove it so I can fit an FM modulator between it and the aerial, to listen to my MP3 player at leisure.

Cheers.

Try pushing fairly hard on the front of the unit as you insert the removal keys. I've had several where the release catches are stuck on the frame and just bend a bit when you insert the keys.

Well, I finally got the CD30 out - I had to take out the glovebox and reach round to give a hearty few pushes on the back of the unit.

The pins had been disengaged, it was just a very tight squeeze.

Anyway, I'm looking at where to fit the modulator, and notice that there appears to be another fakra aerial socket dangling at the back of the glovebox - does anybody know what this is for? It's not connected up to anything, but there's another DIN connector taped next to it. I could upload a picture if it would help.
