you prob need to re-sync...put key in ignition,turn to position 2,press and hold one of the buttons. indicators should flash then the locks will lock and unlock-job done!

 

I know its a year after your post but i had the same problem and i've just tried what you said and hey presto key fob works again thank you

 

Thanks but i tried this earlier but i don't think i turned it to position 2 i turned until the battery light come on dash is that correct is that position 2,anyway i'll try this but if it doesn't work is there any other advice you can give?

Just been to try it,turned key into 2nd position,pressed the button(tried both)but no joy,central locking doesn't work with key fob button but it does work when i use the key in doorlock,i want it to work with key though so any other ideas much appreciated.

have heard that in some cars will make a difference if door is open or closed??
had the fob worked before with regards to locking/unlocking??
if the red light flashes then i would assume the fob is working but the car doesnt recognize it,if re-sync doesnt work maybe its the wrong fob for your car that would mean getting it re-programmed to your car via a vauxhall dealer!
maybe others on here can give you some better/accurate advice.

Not sure if the fob worked before as i only just bought the car,its gotta be the right fob surely as the key opens my doors n boot,i'll try it with the door open n then closed see if that makes a difference,thanks for all your help so far.

 

if the key and fob are seperate then it could be...you can buy the fobs off ebay but they need to be reprogrammed!

 

No the key and fob are together its one of those square keys with 2 rectangle buttons on it.

 

oh ok, was thinking vectra b fobs were seperate.
pop into a vauxhall dealer and ask,they may have a better idea of whats going on!

 

This worked on my key.
Take the back off and place a folded piece of card in the back of it. There is too much flex in the plastic part of the key and the card takes up the slack. Or you could give the whole thing a good hard sqeeze together when working the buttons.

Sometimes simple is best - I'm the proof!!!
